This
Summer Institute II course is offered to teachers who have attended
the Fox Valley Writing Project Summer Institute in past years.
It is an intensive 12 day, 3 graduate-course offered at UW Oshkosh.
Teachers will work with Jeff Lucas, Neenah elementary school
teacher and technology guru, to develop their writing and technology
skills.
This course will help
teachers accomplish the following objectives:
Transform a traditional
presentation into engaging electronic formats
Enhance student publications
Learn how to use technology
to facilitate the writing process
Motivate students
to write through the use of technology
Increase comfort
level in using and teaching with technology
Teachers will become
comfortable with the following software:
Inspiration
Microsoft Publisher
Microsoft Word
Microsoft PowerPoint
Front Page
They will learn
how to create the following products using computer technology:
Newspapers
Newsletters
Posters
Flyers
Graphic
Organizers
Outlines
Booklets
Tri-folds
PowerPoint
Presentations
Web
Quests
Web
Pages
This three credit graduate
level course will be held in a computer lab on the UW Oshkosh campus.
