Pat
Scanlan, Director, is an associate professor in the Reading Education
Department at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. She earned her
Ph.D. at the University of Iowa and has been a teacher educator on
three different campuses in the Midwest since 1988. A good friend
once shared the following advice, "It's what you learn after
you know it all that really counts." This wisdom is fitting as
she and her husband Mike parent their two teen-age sons and their
dog Rikki, a bassett-yellow lab mix. Pat assumed her new role as director
of the Fox Valley Writing Project in Fall 2007. |
| Lisa
Weiss has worked in the Oshkosh Area School District for the
past 12 years, teaching in a variety of settings and grade levels.
She has been a classroom teacher, a Reading Specialist, and most
recently, a Literacy Coach. It was her literacy coaching position
that brought her back to the FVWP. Ten years ago she took the summer
institute to gain knowledge for herself as a novice teacher, but
last summer she returned for the purpose of gaining ideas in order
to assist her colleagues in their content areas. She looks forward
to extending the work of the project by offering classes through
UWO. |
