The FVWP is an innovative
effort between the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh College of Education
and Human Services and area schools. Since 1986, we have served
1000s of teachers in Wisconsin through our Summer Institute, Writing
Conferences, and graduate courses.
The Fox Valley Writing
Project, an affiliate of the National Writing Project, is a proven,
professional program for kindergarten through post-secondary teachers.
Based on the theory of teachers teaching teachers, the FVWP brings
together teachers to share their writing strategies and improve
their own writing skills with a view to improving the writing skills
of both teachers and students.
We believe writing is
an integral part of the learning process in all subjects at all
grade levels. With this in mind, our programs provide opportunities
for teachers to grow as teachers of writing and as writers themselves.
The Project brings this
about through its four-week intensive Summer Institute, Spring Conference,
and various professional development programs throughout the school
year.
